Exposing the Flaws

Starting to tear things apart to get a look at the condition.  This is the window above the door.  I'd noticed a drip above the door, and assumed that window was in really bad shape and wasn't dissapointed.

It's just a single pane of raw glass.  It was covered by the aluminum trim that I removed, exposing the wood that was rotted underneath.  Expected, as the aluminum cover was just keeping all the water in, so it had to be removed.  This is likely the worst window in the house.  In this picture I've already sealed the lower pane just to avoid short-term water ingress while I sort out the details.  The lead time on new windows is about 20 weeks, so it will take a while to get it replaced.

Garage Door Openers

Old garage doors/openers had issues.  No remote for one, iffy remote connection for the others, and very noisy and bumpy.  Doors themselves were ok, but put new rollers in, and found a good deal on modern 3/4 hp garage door openers.  Got one installed.

More Room For Activities

Knew there was some empty space under the stairs, good use of space for long-term storage. Could put a door on it but probably doesn't need it since that is all in a closet already.  I'll reinforce the upper beam and remove the 2 studs.

Windows Starting

Removing the drywall and trim around the windows so that I can measure for replacements.  Also cut the drywall around the water plumbing that was exposed in the basement.  Discovered it was just really, really lazy plumbing.  They moved the exterior faucet and didn't bother to replumb correctly.
