There was an exterior door on the side of the garage that was in pretty bad shape. I also want to maximize the usable space in the garage so I planned on removing it. With we weather, and colder weather on the way, I needed to tackle it now.
Old garage doors/openers had issues. No remote for one, iffy remote connection for the others, and very noisy and bumpy. Doors themselves were ok, but put new rollers in, and found a good deal on modern 3/4 hp garage door openers. Got one installed.
Knew there was some empty space under the stairs, good use of space for long-term storage. Could put a door on it but probably doesn't need it since that is all in a closet already. I'll reinforce the upper beam and remove the 2 studs.
Removing the drywall and trim around the windows so that I can measure for replacements. Also cut the drywall around the water plumbing that was exposed in the basement. Discovered it was just really, really lazy plumbing. They moved the exterior faucet and didn't bother to replumb correctly.
